Anna Hunter, MA
Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist
I earned my graduate degree in Clinical Psychology from Washburn University in 2021, followed by over two years of intensive postgraduate training at the Kansas City Center for Anxiety Treatment. I then spent an additional 1.5 years as a Staff Therapist, where I continued to gain invaluable experience in delivering high-quality care to individuals facing anxiety and related challenges.
Now in private practice, I continue to provide evidence-based therapy to individuals of all ages, helping them navigate the complexities of anxiety, OCD, and related conditions. My approach is active, collaborative, and personalized, primarily utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also integrate additional modalities, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as needed. By drawing on a wide range of techniques, I tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique needs, empowering them to manage symptoms, improve emotional well-being, and achieve lasting change.
I specialize in treating all forms of anxiety and comorbid disorders, including: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Specific Phobias, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Body-Focused Repetitive Behavior Disorders (BFRBs) like Trichotillomania and Excoriation Disorder, Tourette Syndrome, Tic Disorders, some Eating/Feeding Disorders like ARFID, Depression, Behavioral Concerns, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
In addition to my clinical work, I have contributed to research and publications in the field, including a recent case study on OCD and COVID-19-related obsessions published in the Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy. I enjoy attending and presenting at conferences, such as the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) the OCD Kansas Conference, discussing strategies for relapse prevention and supporting family systems in anxiety treatment.
