FAQs
What is your approach to therapy?
I use a personalized, evidence-based approach that integrates different therapeutic techniques, including CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and others, depending on your specific needs. Our work together will be collaborative, goal-oriented, and tailored to help you manage symptoms and achieve lasting change.
What ages and conditions or disorders do you treat?
I work with clients of all ages. I treat all anxiety and obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders as well as many related conditions including: Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Social anxiety disorder, Panic disorder, Agoraphobia, Specific Phobias, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Body Focused Repetitive Behavior Disorders (BFRBs) like Trichotillomania and Excoriation Disorder, Tourette Syndrome and Tic disorders, some Eating/Feeding Disorders (ARFID), Depression, Behavioral Concerns, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
How long will therapy take?
The length of therapy depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people see improvement in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term treatment. An average treatment duration is 12-20 sessions, though that number varies depending on symptom severity, life stressors, and effort. During our sessions, we’ll work together to determine the appropriate frequency and duration of therapy, and we’ll reassess as we go.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, depending on your plan. It is recommended that you check with your insurance company beforehand to confirm out-of-network coverage. See my Fees and Policies for more information
Why don’t you accept insurance?
I choose not to accept insurance to provide you with more flexibility and control over your treatment. Insurance companies often limit the frequency and type of sessions, which may not align with your clinical needs. By not contracting with insurers, I can offer more personalized care, maintain your privacy, and reduce long-term treatment costs by focusing on effective, evidence-based therapies.
Can therapy be done remotely or in different locations?
Yes! As an out-of-network provider, I have the flexibility to offer therapy in various settings. For individuals in Kansas, we can meet remotely via video call, or in-person at your home, school, or other community locations, depending on your needs. This flexibility allows us to apply therapeutic strategies directly to your daily life.
